Week 30: First Full Week in Almere

Hello family and friends!
Well this week was an interesting week full of many different emotions...haha but in the end, it was a very good week!  Here is pretty much my week!

Made a new friend on my first day in Almere!
Tuesday we had a great district meeting and then we met with one of the newer reactivated sisters named Bizu! She is from Ethiopia and has lived here for 4 years! She is soo nice and soo cute! She wants to become a nurse so we really have lots to talk about! Haha then we we RUSHED over to Sofia's for a lesson and I was not feeling good...We were riding our bikes and all of a sudden a police car drives onto the bike path and gets in my way so I tried to move and I fell. It wasn't very fun..haha Lucky I didn't get hurt that badly so that is good! Haha I was more embarrassing if anything. Haha, the police guy stops his car and says "Alles goed?" haha that's it??  YOU just asked me if everything is okay? You almost made me die. Haha I am over it...not really. haha we get to Sofia's and she wasn't home..jammer. We rushed home ate some food and looked to see if anything was wrong with me and then we hopped on a train to exchange in Haarlem!   I hate exchanges..BUT I did have a really good time!  I was in Den Haag with Zuster Reeder! We rode our bikes a lot in the rain...It was like I had taken another shower with my clothes on haha. It was actually really funny! Haha We stopped a lot of people...none of them were really interested which kinda sucks but it was good to practice! I did stop this guy and he started going off about how he believes that some guys was the creater of this earth...weird but I stilled talked with him. Turned out that his sister is a member of our church and the sisters have been trying to get a hold of her for like EVER. He brought us over to her house but she wasn't home! Hopefully they can get a hold of her later. haha
The exchange was Wednesday and then we didn't get home until super late Wednesday night! Yay! But Zuster Rosenlof and I had a good conversation on the train about life. She is hilarious! haha We were in a weird mood because we were so tired. haha

Thursday was a rough day for both of us, but we still pushed through! We helped an inactive with her job and then also had a really great dinner appointment with the Rutten Family! TOTALLY AWESOME PEOPLE! And much needed because they pumped us up so that we were ready to do more work!  Well I can't see right now so I will just type...haha sorry if it doesn't look good. After them we had an appt with Rosemary (former investigator we looked up) and it ent super well! She had  really hard week and so she was crying and really opening up to us. We had a good talk about the restoration and set up another appt! Yay! She said she will come to church this week because she had something yesterday.

Friday we had a great lesson with Sofia...her kids a little crazy though so it was hard to keep the spirit strong! She is still having a hard time getting work off on sundays so that she can come to church..she is also looking for another house so if you guys could pray for here that would be great! then we had dinner qwith Family Brower! I love them! She is my Dutch mom. She really takes care of us. Haha we were a little disobedient and watched Johny Lingo with her and her family. Hey it is a church movie...which is HILARIOUS!!! Haha
Saturady was a great day! I dont have anytime left to write so I will put it in my letter home. Hope you got my letter!

Sunday was great! Vanessa, an inactive came to church (finally!!!) and brought her Boyfirend!!!! SUPER COOL! Pray that we can start teaching him and help her stay strong and keep going to church. Everyone was sooo good to her at church. Then we had some people to look up and we then went to ward choir! THat was cool to get closer to the member!

Well Hopefully this week will go well for you guys!! LOVE YOU TONS AND MISS YOU

Week 29: uhhh oohhhh...My First Transfer

Guess what ya'll? I am getting transfered. :( Not really a surprise but still sad. I am going to Almere-Buiten (just means I am going to the outer part of Almere) in the Netherlands. My new comp will be Zuster R. (not quite sure how to spell her name..) but I am pretty excited. What is kinda funny is that Z Rigdon went to Leeuwarden and her comp was Zuster W. and now Z W. is coming to Antwerpen! So that is cool.

Wow, this week as been kinda a blurr. New Year's Eve was exciting! We had to be in our apartment by 4:00 pm so we got to make good food and sleep. That was really nice. And just have a great time. It is crazy how fast time goes when you are in your apt half of the day. haha We thought we wouldn't be able to fill all of the time. haha. We only saw like 2 fireworks..if that. Oh well. Still was really fun.

Wednesday we had a really good first lesson with this lady named Joyce and her son Prince from Ghana. They were really sweet and interested. Prince is 20 and loves reading to he just really dove into the BOM. It was cool. Marisa wasn't home..SO that was a bummer. We did see Blas again (that guy who kissed me on the cheek at the beginning of this transfer) and guess what? He kissed us both on the cheek..Awkward. haha Then we had dinner with Dirk and Christel. I was super fun! We had gourmet and homemade Chroketts (?) Which they will send me the recipe for so we can make them.

Thursday all of our apts fell through..Jammer. But yeah, so we did our weekly planning and then headed outside. Nothing special. We did have dinner with the Schiltz and we had a super time. I just love these two and I am going to miss them a TON!

Friday we had a lot of look ups so we did that. We talked to this guy named Mario who only spoke french and I could understand him. Super cool but I couldn't say anything back..So We called Julie and had her talk to him. Really cool. We got an appointment for Wednesday. We then stopped by Graces and that was fun. She said she didn't have any time soon to do Zuster A's hair so she just cut it while we were there. It is now pretty short but it looks cute. We really had a good talk with her about life. She really wants to get back to church so hopefully we can help motivate her. Then we went to Dirks, and he had his interview..GUESS WHAT? HE PASSED! YAY

Saturday was the funeral of Sister B's (from our ward) son. She wanted me to tell you, mom, that she wanted to write you but didn't have time. She loves you so much and really looks up to you. Maybe just send her a message of courage. Her son was 31 and had two kids. We think he may have passed away from drugs..Not quite sure though. He was a great guy. We then had cleaning checks...AND WE PASSED. Yay haha Stressful though. Then we had lekker Indian food with Shilpa and her son Shlok who are inactives. They are really super cool people. I love them. He is super shy but we kinda got him to open up when we made cookies.
Making cookies with Shlok!
